1. Describe the inheritance patterns and complications of α and ß thalassaemia and sickle cell anaemia.
2. Indications of transfusion and complications of long-term transfusion.
3. Understand the indications for starting iron-chelating agents
4. Prescribe prophylactic folate and where appropriate.
5. Understand the role of genetic counselling and prenatal diagnosis for congenital haemolytic anaemia disorders.
